About The Practitioner

Training

I attended The Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Pinellas Park, FL from 2011-2012, graduating with Academic Honors, participated in all volunteer events throughout my year of schooling and became an ambassador for incoming classes during my year of studies and post-graduation. Immediately after graduation, I enrolled in a one year program to learn Structural Energetic Therapy® with Don McCann. This course of study transformed my focus of massage to become an LMT understanding Cranio-Somatic and Structural Integration. I then began a mentorship with another teacher for two years learning acupressure, Touch for Health, Pre and Post Scar therapy, and Applied Kinesiology. I returned to Cortiva in 2014 to become a faculty member for two years, leading classes in Clinical Integration, a capstone class focusing on the integration of all studies during the previous semesters, preparing seniors to understand how to create treatment plans from all of their many modalities learned during their training.

Philosophy

Robert S. King has been studying massage and bodywork since 1977, maintaining a focus on healing both the outer and inner needs of the guests with whom he works. His passion continues to embody a practice which utilizes a precise understanding of the anatomy, the personal needs of his guests and a deep commitment to understanding the energetic forces that reinforce and support overall healing for each individual.

Why I do what I do

In 1977, during my late teens, I was introduced to bodywork and massage. I immediately found in fascinating, intriguing and quickly realized that I had talents in this industry to share. I immediately began learning as much as I could. I began with Swedish Relaxation massage, then discovered Polarity Energy Balancing which deeply caught my attention. Since 1978 when I began my studies in Polarity, energetic and hands-on work have been central to my personal growth. Assisting others to experience their own healing and personal transformation through the modalities of hands-on bodywork has remained a constant focus in my life. In 2011 I attended Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Pinellas Park, FL and became a licensed massage therapist. Since then I have taken 100's of hours of advanced training, I have been mentored by all of my teachers with their wealth of historical knowledge and built a thriving business in which I am able to assist those ready to discover their emerging and transformative selves through the practice of bodywork and massage.
